We had the privilege of conducting a one-day workshop on resilience and happiness for 150 visually handicapped individuals and 50 caregivers who traveled from across the country to the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress (ACBC).
It was heartbreaking to see how much this community needs tools for well-being, resilience, and emotional strength resources that are often overlooked for the visually handicapped and their carers by the government and people.
This event was organised under the leadership of the President of ACBC and its dedicated staff, with Dr. Puja Shakour of the USA generously sponsoring all transportation, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and arrangements.
The program was a great success, bringing hope, knowledge, and connection to those who need it most.
It’s time for all Sri Lankans to come together to support the visually handicapped community to give them not just assistance, but also the skills and opportunities to thrive.
